ITM’s Research Department is affiliated to the Research and Extension Vice Chancellor’s Office. It is responsible for leading and supporting research as part of the Mission of the Institute. Research creates knowledge and it is a means to qualify professors, students, and alumni. In the Institutional Development Plan titled “ITM, a medium for social inclusion justice and inclusion in the city 2012-2015” this Mission Statement is part of the Second Core Principle: Research, Innovation and Development in the service of society.
ITM develops and fosters a culture of research, critical and propositional thinking, as well as the creation and social use of knowledge. All of them must contribute to sustainable human progress and the scientific, technological, academic, cultural, social, and economic knowledge of the region and the country.
